Term 2
In term 2, since we've already covered most of the basic concepts of the class at this point, I do not have many examples of traditional "Study Notes". So in this section, I've decided to showcase works and assignments from a book we are reading called "The Overstory" and other miscellaneous work from over the term.

For each chapter of "The Overstory", our class engages in group discussions called Socratic Seminars in which a group of students go to the center desk and have a discussion about the latest chapter we read. The rest of the class takes notes while listening to the center group. When it was my turn to go up to the center desk, I kept in mind a goal I had for term 2-- to talk out more and contribute more ideas during class discussions. Though my feedback for my turn at circle recommends that I go further with my talking, I am still proud of the progress I made for term 2 with this goal and feel that I have genuinely improved at talking more during class. For my next circle, I will try to engage even more and go further with my participation due to the results of this feedback.

This assignment was a reflection and self assessment about an activity we did during class called a Socratic Relay. After the activity, we answered the google classroom post in order to continue our thoughts about the discussion and clarify any remaining thoughts we had about the short story. In addition, I replied to a classmate's post about the discussion in order to further my own analysis about the writing and better understand other perspectives and views about the short story. In order to improve on this activity in the future, I think I should talk more during class discussion and write more post-discussion reflection.
Term 1
This section of my portfolio shows the study notes we took in class on each of our three units: short stories, poetry, and plays. These notes provide an overview of each of the sections we discussed and were useful when providing context while writing FRQs and answering MCQs.
